I always found it amusing that as you drive out of Delhi even for a short distance, say 2-3 kilometers, the infrastructure changes dramatically. The quality of roads and house changes significantly and withing a few more kilometers you start seeing farmlands and huts. It makes me believe that somehow the economic prosperity and associated lifestyle developments have containted themselves within the limits of the metropolitan. The real India is quite different.
