Adobe Flex

I sometimes ask myself – why is there so much buzz about AJAX when products like Flex are out there on the market? Flex has come a long way since its version 1.0, when it used to be a server based product costing $10 K for a simple application. Starting with version 1.5, Macromedia (now Adobe), have build the IDE on top of Eclipse platform. I installed and Beta 2 a few months ago and played with it for sometime. I’d say Flex is the ideal way for making interactive web applications especially since Flex allows you to direclty consumer Web Services (like data-binding). The runtime – essentially Flash runtime is available on 99% of the computers worldwide. Here is a good article (through digg): 10 Reason We Love Flex 2
